-Topsail Presbyterian Church is home to the Hampstead office of the Presbyterian Counseling Center. The Presbyterian Counseling Center’s main office in Wilmington has been offering counseling services for over thirty years. The Hampstead office of the PCC opened in April of 2009 and has been serving clients in New Hanover, Pender, Onslow, and Duplin Counties.
The Presbyterian Counseling Center is not just for Presbyterians. The counselor at the Hampstead office, provides a caring environment for individual, couples, and family therapy to people of all cultures and beliefs. The center’s mission is based on the concept that all people have the right to receive quality mental health care. Areas of specialization include working with clients with depression and anxiety disorders as well as treating those with marital and other relationship problems. She treats adults and children with ADHD, those dealing with grief and loss issues, and people who have difficulty managing and letting go of anger. The Center offers workshops on anger and forgiveness, healing from grief and loss, and other personal growth topics.
For those paying “out of pocket” for counseling services, the therapist works with clients to negotiate a manageable fee. The Center in Hampstead accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare Standard and Prime, Medicare, Medicaid, and most other forms of insurance.
