Stewardship is a central Christian value and is defined as caring for something that belongs to another. In creation, God directed humanity to steward the earth—meaning to care for it and tend to it on God’s behalf. In the traditions of the church, stewardship has also come to refer to our stewarding all that God has given us: our time, talent and treasure.
In particular, the Finance Committee manages the financial health of the church, its income and expenses, as well as its endowment assets, all of which make up its treasure.
The Stewardship and Finance Committee directs the church expenditures and investment policies. It also prepares an annual budget for presentation and approval of the Session.
