Transfiguration of the Lord
10:30 AM February 19, 2012
We are delighted that we can worship together this Lord’s day. Our prayer is that during this hour you will sense, in new and wonderful ways, the presence of Jesus Christ and the peace of God.

Praise My Soul the King of Heaven
Call to Worship
Leader: God calls to the heavens and to the earth and invites
the faithful to gather.
People: The heavens declare God’s righteousness, and earth
sings God’s praise. Let us worship God.
Prayer of Invocation and the Lord’s Prayer (Unison)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
* Hymn 306 Fairest Lord Jesus
Prayer of Confession: (Unison) Holy God, you are so far beyond our understanding; your glory is more than we can comprehend. We persist in making you too small; we restrict your wisdom and mercy to what we can explain. Forgive us. Open our eyes to your infinite splendor and make us more faithful, that we may follow, in trust, wherever you lead. Amen.

“Clarity”
* Hymn 142 All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name
* Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles’ Creed (Unison)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
